VLADIMIR IN THE GARDEN OF THE VILLA BORGHESE IN ROME

James Colomina‘s red artwork depicting the Russian president continues to carry his message against the war in Ukraine,

Since August 3, the Russian president has been installed on a miniature tank in the grounds of Rome’s Villa Borghese.

The red resin sculpture depicting Vladimir Putin continues its journey through European capitals,

It’s not simply an artistic tourist stopover, but rather a message that Toulouse-based street artist James Colomina wishes to convey to condemn the repercussions of the war in Ukraine, where children are often the first to be affected, hence the toy’s symbolism,

“The function of art is to destabilize”.

“The success of this sculpture seems timeless”, says the artist. It’s a nomadic creation that will continue its journey as long as the conflict in Ukraine persists. You could say that it follows the sad rhythm of war.”
