Michele Del Campo
Biography
Michele Del Campo was born in 1976 in San Nicandro Garganico (Italy). After studying illustration in Falmouth (England) and Dundee (Scotland), he graduated from the Complutense University in Madrid (Spain). In 2006, he won the Premio BMW, Spain’s most prestigious painting prize. Armed with two suitcases and a tube for his canvases, he began travelling in 2017, creating whenever he felt inspired.
A nomadic artist, he enjoys total freedom and unlimited creativity. A keen observer of the world around him, he captures the stories, connections and emotions of his models in his work. Michele Del Campo transcends realism by creating compositions that embody fragments of a reality made up of different moments and places.
Through his oil paintings, which exude the dynamism of life, the artist evokes the concepts of uprootedness, the joy of living, the ephemeral and the disjointed way in which we approach images today.
