NAT BOWEN

Biography

NAT BOWEN

Nat Bowen is known for her highly saturated abstract works, composed of multiple layers of resin. The artist uses chromology, the psychology of colour, as the foundation of her art. Indeed, colour, as a property of light, has the power to alter or transform a person’s mental state.

Nat Bowen enjoys studying the relationship between colours and shapes in interaction: different shapes painted in a similar colour can convey different feelings. This knowledge allows her to initiate a dialogue with the viewer.

I use colour and form as a means of communicating my emotions, although the viewer’s physical and emotional response to my work may vary depending on their own perceptions and personal experiences.

Nat Bowen associates his practice with well-being, meditation and mental health. Art, as a form of therapy, has become essential to his lifestyle. Viewers are encouraged to adopt a meditative state when observing his work, taking the time to observe and allow the creation to have an impact on the mind and body.

His paintings adapt to the changing light of the day and the environment in which they are displayed, as if they were constantly evolving.
