« Energia della Vita » : Andrea Roggi x Martin Katz

On the occasion of the solo show “ANDREA ROGGI – 50 YEARS OF CREATION,” the sculptor reveals a new collaboration with American jeweler Martin Katz. In harmony with the organic forms and vital energy of bronze, this artistic encounter extends the sculptural work into the language of jewelry, translating Andrea Roggi’s cherished philosophy of vital energy into precious stones.

“The concept I used for the limited edition Life Energy series is that the Earth’s energy comes from the sun, which we see reflected in the changing colors of the sky.” – Martin Katz

The stones in shades representing the colors of dawn, transitioning to the light of early morning, pinkish blues. As the day progresses, the shades shift to the light blue of the daytime sky, then to the colors of dusk—yellows and orange-reds—before reaching the evening horizon, where stars can be seen twinkling in the dark blue midnight sky, returning to dawn and the colors of sunrise. All of this reflects the evolution of colors due to the Earth’s revolution, creating the energy of life for all life and all humanity.

Each sphere is meticulously handcrafted from 28 grams of gold and set with 87 diamonds (total weight 0.54 carats) of DEF color and VVS clarity, sourced responsibly in South Africa via DTC Botswana, with 281 colored gemstones (total weight 22.99 carats), including blue, blue-violet, violet-pink, pink, orange, and yellow sapphires, topazes, and aquamarines.

This encounter between sculpture and fine jewelry creates a subtle balance between cosmic force and intimate brilliance, where matter and light respond to each other.
