Giacinto Bosco
Biography

Giacinto Bosco was born in 1956 in Alcamo, Sicily. At the age of 15, he moved to Milan. His artistic vocation led him to become a foundryman in an art foundry, a magical meeting place for sculptors and artists who stimulated and inspired him.
In a poetic dimension transformed and shaped by his imagination, as if in a dream, Bosco began to construct his sculptural narrative, in particular his Aphorisms of the Moon.
He then presented this cycle of works at his first solo exhibition in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast, entitled Che fai tu, luna, in ciel? Dimmi, che fai, silenziosa luna?
His dreamlike universe is created: the characters from his stories animate his creative expressions and bring him back to his origins. Primitive and simple human feelings take solemn form in his poetic sculptures, which have been exhibited internationally in Moscow, New York, Istanbul, and Miami. Over the years, the dreamlike dimension of his sculptural tales has entered into dialogue with different expressive languages in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
Art critic Paolo Levi affirms that each of Giacinto Bosco’s creations, made using the lost wax process, demonstrates his rare ability to fuse historical memory with an innovative and unconventional technique.
Dream and reality are reconciled in a pure, magical, and authentic feeling thanks to the artist’s sensitivity. His sculptures intensify the real meaning of his representation, glorifying a return to simple and essential poetry and a narrative outside of time and history.
