FRED ALIONE

Biography

FRED ALIONE

Born in 1974, Fred Alione has been drawing since childhood with unwavering dedication. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he naturally gravitated toward drawing, which became the foundation of his practice. Initially passionate about photography, he discovered painting in 2003 through a work by Jean-Michel Basquiat—a revelation. He then threw himself into painting with intensity, and the influence of this Pop Art figure still surfaces in his work.

In 2014, he began the “Lofts” series, in which he imagines Parisian interiors and fantasy studios. He continues the tradition of interior portraiture while subverting its codes. His graphic style, urban perspective, and pop inspiration give his work a contemporary resonance.

These spaces are rich in details, objects, and symbols. A forgotten beer, a cigarette butt, a train ticket: all clues to a passing presence, an interrupted story. Each place seems to have been inhabited just moments before.

Fred Alione creates his works using hand-designed stencils, cut with a scalpel, which he applies with spray paint before outlining them with black acrylic paint. A meticulous technique, a narrative eye, a work of art.
