MYRIAM GREFF, KNIGHT OF ARTS & LETTERS
On Thursday, February 5, Myriam Greff received the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres medal at the Galeries Bartoux Paris. This prestigious award was solemnly presented by the Mayor, Jean-François Copé.
With a master’s degree in heritage restoration from the École de Condé in Paris, she began her career working with institutions and antique dealers before specializing in kintsugi, a traditional Japanese restoration technique that originated in the 15th century. This practice is based on a unique philosophy: sublimating cracks and accidents to create beauty from imperfection.
This honorary distinction recognizes a committed artistic approach based on repair, transmission, and the value of the gesture. Through her work, Myriam Greff creates a dialogue between cultures and incorporates ancestral know-how into a contemporary, accessible, and universal vision.
From childhood, Myriam Greff fell under the spell of the Bartoux Galleries in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. She promised herself that if she became an artist, she would want to be represented exclusively by the Bartoux Galleries. Yesterday’s ceremony marked the fulfillment of this dream and the beginning of a new chapter in her artistic career.
