UMBERTO CICERI
Biography

Umberto Ciceri was born in Lombardy (northern Italy). He graduated from art school and the Academy of Arts and Design in Milan. While still studying, he was chosen to assist designer Elio Fiorucci.
With his experience in textiles, Umberto Ciceri developed the Hypertrait method: a contraction of Hyper and portrait, a neuroperceptive mode of representing visual phenomena, amplified by observation in motion.
Dance is at the heart of the artist’s approach. Form fades away in favour of a rhythmic breath, a vibrant energy field.
For Umberto Ciceri, blurring becomes a true artistic tool, the opposite of the quest for absolute clarity. Contours fade, giving way to a cloud of sensations and colours, where the figurative gradually blends into the background.
