Philippe HIQUILY


Philippe Hiquily born 1925 and died 2013 was a sculptor and designer.

He studied Fine Arts in Paris where he met César, Tinguely, Richier and Ferraud. His first Paris exhibition took place in 1955.

His sculptures are characterized by an omnipresent eroticism where the search for balance has an important place. He mainly worked with recycled materials. With his mobile sculptures, he was recognized as a pioneer of kinetic art. The work of Philippe Hiquily is featured in many museums such as the MoMA and the Guggenheim.
