Biography – HOPARE
Born in 1989, Hopare is an all-round artist who combines abstraction and figuration in a dynamic that brings back memories of the early twentieth century Italian futurism. Modernity, speed, movement, his relations with the city, a vital energy just seems to animate the works of the talented young graffiti artist. The color strips intertwine and bring out faces and forms from the canvas. Hopare travels and moves forward with his “wheel” and allows us to follow him on his road full of magic and poetry, in his colorful and organic universe that contrasts with the everyday grayness of the streets where it takes place.
His portraits are particularly poignant with his particular “silk ribbon” technique delimited by black “nylon threads” offering maximum details. The colors are vaporous and aerial, they submit themselves to the movement of the line – line and structure being so important in graffiti art. It is also this soft linearity that gives its special character to Hopare’s work, a sensitivity to each other that allows us to identify with the timeless model represented.
His portraits on canvas allow us to feel a little bit more the precision and tactile character of the line. The transparency of tones and their freshness add emotion and resonance to the structure, inviting us to travel to a distant also fragile and magical elsewhere.
